The garden is a jewel box of colours in mid May. The last tulips and peonies can still be flowering, and early roses beginning to bloom. Stars of the May garden are the bearded irises, with their showy, velvety flowers. Our beautifully scented wisteria may also be coming into bloom and our tender plants will be out on display. With limited ticket numbers, enjoy the quiet seclusion of the garden and the dappled shady areas. Perhaps bring a book or take time to explore our fascinating, variously-planted borders.
