Turn End Trust is delighted to partner with Buckinghamshire Society of Architects and the MK Gallery to present a special screening of the film Turn End: The Home and Garden of Architect Peter Aldington. The 45-minute long film will be followed by questions and discussion led by Architect and Patron of Turn End Trust, Alan Powers with Peter and Margaret Aldington and Turn End’s gardener, Jackie Hunt.

Buckinghamshire Society of Architects, overseen by the South East Regional office of RIBA located in Reading, is run by a small group of volunteer architects located within Bucks. The Society actively encourages it membership to attend buildings to review and be inspired by the work of other distinguished architects. It runs annual lectures in collaboration with MK Gallery.
Alan Powers writes and lectures on art, architecture and design, mainly British and mainly of the mid twentieth century. He has a long association with the Twentieth Century Society and its work for conservation, education and research. He first visited Peter and Margaret Aldington at Turn End in 1994 while carrying out a survey for English Heritage which led to the first major group of listings of post-1945 houses, and went on to write a book on the work of Aldington, Craig and Collinge, published in 2010 by RIBA and English Heritage in the series Twentieth Century Architects of which he is one of the editors.
The Filmmakers: Murray Grigor OBE is an internationally acclaimed film director who has made over 50 films since the late 1960s with a focus on arts and architecture documentaries. His subjects include Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Robert Adam, Frank Lloyd Wright, Carlo Scarpa and Sir John Soane. Hamid Shams, Director of Photography, has been a filmmaker for over 25 years. He has also produced, edited and directed several works.
